This pond with cascade at Bangalow Wholesale Nursery catches water runoff from irrigation and feeds into a large recycling dam for reuse. Iris and rush plants remove some of the excess nutrient load, while the small cascade helps to oxygenate the water. Stepping stones allow safe access from one side to the other and continue through the mulched garden on either side.
Pond surrounds are planted with a canopy of Bangalow Palms, Elaeocarpus 'Prima Donna', Elaeocarpus eumundii, Waterhousea floribunda 'Green Avenue', Randia fitzalanii and Backhousea citriodora with an understory of native ground cover Goodenia ovata, Lomandra hystrix and native ginger.
